Region Of Central Greece

The Region of Central Greece, the 2nd largest greek region, an area of 15,549 sq.km., inhabited since the Stone Age, is located in the center of the country and has borders to the north with Thessaly, to the west and southwest with Western Greece and to the southeast with Attica. Capital of its region is Lamia, the 18nth in size city of Greece, when its biggest city is Halkida, the 9th biggest city in Greece. The archeological sites of Delphi and the traditional village of Arachova near Mount Parnassos which becomes even more beautiful when it’s covered by snow and also the area of Thermopylae known for its historical significance can be key points for international audiovisual film productions.
