Epirus, an area in the northwestern part of the country, is dominated by mountain ranges that are interrupted in some places by fertile plains and valleys full of rivers and forests. Some of the landscapes that stand out are the mountain range of Pindos, the rivers Aoos and Voidomatis and the mountain lakes called Drakes Lakes. This rich landscape would be an ideal setting for films in which the element of nature would dominate and is also suitable for a variety of activities such as mountaineering, hiking, kayaking, rafting and canoeing, the cinematography of which would highlight them. This area is associated with rich history and culture reflected in both architecture and folk art of the 18th and 19th centuries. The viewer of a film shot in this area can feel the passage of different historical periods with a look at the mansions, the monuments, the cobbled streets and the arched stone bridges of Zagorochoria, stone-built traditional villages of Zagori.
