The Hellenic Film Commission (HFC) by the Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center (HFAC) participated with a dedicated booth at FOCUS 2025 – meet the makers, the major international gathering of companies and professionals from the audiovisual industry (8–9 December 2025). The HFC also took part in the training and networking activities of the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN) (7 & 9 December 2025), held in London, United Kingdom.
During the FOCUS 2025 exhibition, at the booth of the Hellenic Film Commission by HFAC, the Greek delegation had the opportunity to present Greece’s new audiovisual landscape to an international and highly specialized audience. Specifically, they showcased the financial tools and investment incentives (Cash Rebate Greece, Location Scouting Support Program, Minority Co-Production Program), as well as Greece’s comparative advantages as a filming destination—elements that drew significant interest from film studios, production companies, and independent producers.
Additionally, the Greek booth served as a meeting point for representatives of Greek production companies and regional film offices (such as the Western Greece Film Office) who took part in the exhibition.
The Greek participation was further strengthened by a presentation powered by the HFAC titled “Greece as a Destination for Global Audiovisual Productions: Hellenic Film Commission’s Vision & a Case Study of a High-End International Production.” Neoklis Mantas (Film Commissioner) presented to professionals from around the world the strategic advantages of Greece as a location for major international audiovisual productions. As a case study, the Amazon Prime series House of David was showcased, with the participation of Maria Laskaridou (producer, Argonaut Productions), Giannis Karagiannis (CEO, Kapa Studios), and Giorgos Karavokyris (producer, Kapa Studios).
Complementing the two-day networking exhibition was the HFC’s participation—as a member of the EUFCN—in two training and networking activities. In the first session, Olsberg•SPI, the leading consulting firm in the creative industries, delivered an interactive discussion on the current geopolitical landscape and its impact on audiovisual productions. The discussion was enriched with statistical indicators and valuable insights regarding current trends in the global audiovisual market. The second activity was a workshop titled “The Session Tales from Behind the Scenes,” organized by the International Location Managers Guild (LMGI), aiming to train location managers, film commissioners, and line producers to meet the contemporary demands of international audiovisual productions.
