Greek Film Centre (GFC), a public benefit non-profit legal entity supervised by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, is the main institution that applies cinematographic policy in Greece.
The administrative organs of the GFC, are the Board of Directors and the General Director. They are designated by the Minister of Culture, and their service is 3-year long, with an option of renewal.

The Greek Film Centre consists of 4 Directorates:

  • Directorate of Development and Production: in charge of the development and production funding programs, as well as for monitoring the projects till their completion.
  • Directorate of Promotion
  • Hellas Film: in charge of the promotion and distribution of Greek cinema, domestically and internationally in film festivals, film markets and special events all around the world as well as of Greek Film Centre’s print and digital archive.
  • Hellenic Film Commission: in charge of promoting and developing Greece as a filming destination for international film and TV productions and facilitating international productions.
  • Directorate of Finance and Administration

The Greek Film Centre designates the national representative in EURIMAGES and works with the European Commission in operating the promotion office of the Creative Europe Media Desk-Greece. It’s also a member and is of European Film Promotion network (EFP),  European Film Agency Directors (EFADs) and SEE Cinema Network.
