With its core mission of promoting Greece as an established destination for international audiovisual productions, Locate (with)in GREECE -the renewed Location Scouting Support Program of the Hellenic Film Commission- constitutes another dynamic investment incentive by ΕΚΚΟΜΕΔ.
The Program is addressed to foreign film or television projects (fiction or documentary), which, through in-situ research and scouting (repérage), will have the opportunity to comparatively assess the advantages of each location, and explore all the economic, geographical, and technical benefits that Greece offers for carrying out an audiovisual production.
The Program can support:
- preliminary location scouting for film and television projects interested in exploring the possibility of shooting in Greece (CATEGORY A | “Thinking of GREECE”),
location scouting at the pre-production stage for film and television projects that have planned to carry out filming in Greece (CATEGORY B | “We Chose GREECE”).
For 2026, the total budget of the Program is €70,000, while maximum funding per project set at €10,000.
The amount of financial support for both categories will be determined in two stages. In the first stage, which of the three Funding Zones each eligible project falls into will be established (based on the overall evaluation of the application and the level of investment). In the second stage, considering the three special criteria: Geographical Impact / Strategic Dimension / Creative Potential, the final funding amount will be determined.
Applications to the Incentive Program may be submitted by Greek minority co-producers—either sole proprietorships or legal entities—or Greek production companies (sole proprietorships or legal entities) that have an active business activity code related to production of, or support services for, films, videos, and television programs, and that have entered into an agreement with the foreign production company for location scouting in Greece.
