Greece with its origins in the pagan religion of the 12 Olympian Gods in ancient times that have left their mark through various ancient temples, cemeteries and statues, is today one of the countries that embrace the Orthodox Christian faith. From the center of every big city, to the most remote mountain peak or beach, someone can find majestic or small churches, monasteries and cemeteries through which human seeks communication with the God. Some of the most characteristic places of pilgrimage that could highlight international audiovisual productions are the following: Monasteries in Meteora, Nea Moni of Chios, Saint Temple of Panmegiston Taxiarhon of Mantamados in Lesvos, Panagia of Tinos, Panagia Ekantontapiliani in Parikia of Paros, Panagia Hozoviotissa in Amorgos, the church of Agios Nikolaos in Pedi of Symi, Metropolitan Church of Athens and the first Cemetery of Athens where several of the tombs bear sculptures by famous artists, like the sculpture Kimomeni by Giannoulis Halepas. Respect for the different characterizes Greece, which allows the existence of places of worship of other religions, even as a museum space such as some minarets, symbols of Islam which can be a background for films of the character of other religions.
